The Federal Education Association (FEA) is the union representing teachers and education employees in Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools. We are an affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), the nation's largest professional employee organization for educators.

What is the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)?

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), is the government agency responsible for operating the Department of Defense schools. There are two school systems overseen by DoDEA: DoDDS, the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, covers all DoDEA schools on military bases outside of U.S. territory; DDESS, the Domestic Dependents Elementary and Secondary Schools, provides education services to military dependents on certain bases within the United States, as well as on U.S. territories, such as Guam and Puerto Rico.

What does FEA do?

FEA represents and advocates for educators and staff in DoDEA schools. We negotiate and enforce contracts, safeguard employee rights, and speak up on behalf of educators and their students to ensure fair treatment and high-quality learning environments.
