Providing an outstanding education for DoDEA students is a full-time job. When work-related problems arise, whether related to pay, treatment as an employee, or your rights as a federal worker, you may not always have the time, knowledge, or resources to resolve them on your own.
That’s where FEA comes in. As an FEA member, you have access to an experienced legal team dedicated to protecting your rights, benefits, and professional integrity.
How FEA Supports You
FEA works directly with DoDEA management to resolve issues quickly and fairly whenever possible. When informal efforts are not enough, our legal team is prepared to take formal action to ensure you are protected. This may include:
- Filing grievances with DoDEA to dispute and correct pay errors
- Litigating cases to enforce your rights as a federal employee
- Defending you against unfair or improper management actions
- Providing expert advice to help you understand your rights and options
Our attorneys bring extensive experience in education and federal labor law, ensuring that members receive the strongest possible representation.
Real Member Support in Action
One example comes from a DoDEA teacher and FEA member in the Pacific region. She discovered that her daily rate and allotment had been reduced to zero for one of her direct deposit accounts. Despite contacting DoDEA, she received only a confusing explanation and no resolution.
After reaching out to FEA, our legal team conducted a thorough pay audit covering several years. By reviewing her Leave and Earnings Statements (LESs), FEA was able to identify the problem, explain it clearly, and ensure her allotment was restored to the correct amount.
In her words:
“[FEA] requested all my LESs and were able to provide a VERY thorough explanation of the issue… After the inquiry, my allotment was corrected from zero back to the original amount I set aside to come out of my pay into my other bank account.”
