As a result of issues with the online application process, DoDEA has decided to extend the application deadline for the Online Excess Placement Program to 5pm ET next Monday, March 7.
Overseas Excess educators who have already submitted an application may amend it until the 5pm ET deadline on March 7.
Because of the changes to the application deadline, the Excess Placement Program for FEA’s Overseas Bargaining Unit is now scheduled to begin March 14.
FEA Overseas bargaining unit members should be aware that, although the online application allows you to list Europe South locations among your preferences, those EU South locations will only be considered for placement of employees in FEA’s bargaining unit if there are no vacancies or NTE positions within our bargaining unit in which you can be placed (regardless of whether you listed those FEA bargaining unit locations or positions among your preferences). In such instances, DoDEA may consider FEA bargaining unit members’ preferences in Europe South that remain after the OFT Excess placement process is completed. Because of this restricted consideration of Europe South locations for FEA members, it is suggested that members first list all FEA locations in preference order, before listing any Europe South locations.
FEA members are reminded to send a PDF copy of their final submitted application to FEA staffer Bobby Forristal at [email protected]. Bobby will compile those applications for use by FEA President Brian Chance, to verify the accuracy of our members’ information being used in the placement program. Members who previously sent a PDF of their application to Bobby but make revisions before the new March 7 deadline should be certain to send Bobby a PDF copy of their final revised application. PDF copies of members’ applications must be received by close of business on March 9 to be included in FEA’s verification service during the placement program.
