NEA Foundation Awards for Teaching Excellence

The annual awards recognize K-12 public school educators from around the country for excellence in the classroom, dedication to family and community engagement, a commitment to equity and diversity, and advocacy for the teaching profession.

Each year, the NEA Foundation and NEA recognize outstanding educators through the NEA Foundation Awards for Teaching Excellence. The 2026 Awards will be given in February 2026 in Washington, D.C. If you would like to apply to be a 2026 awardee, submit an application to the Federal Education Association by March 14, 2025.

FEA, like all NEA state affiliates, may submit a single applicant each year for consideration. Any current FEA Active member may submit their information to FEA for consideration to be our nominee.

If you are an Active FEA member and would like to enter your information into consideration as FEA’s nominee for the 2026 Foundation Awards, you must complete and submit your application to FEA by March 14, 2025.

Nomination packets must be submitted to FEA by March 14, 2025, in order to be considered. Submit your completed packet via email to FEA President Brian Chance at [email protected]. (The nomination letter, resume and letters of endorsement can be submitted as either Word or PDF files; the Awardee’s Statement must be submitted as a Word file.) Only properly completed applications will be considered.
