Tell Congress You've Sacrificed Enough!

Both Congress and the White House have made proposals that would further burden federal employees in the name of deficit reduction.

The White House, in its 2013 budget request, proposed increasing feds' contributions towards their retirement accounts by 0.4 for each of the next three years.

The House of Representatives is pushing for even more damage to working Americans employed by the government:
  • an extension of the current two-year salary freeze for feds
  • an increase of 1.5 percent in the amount federal employees contribute towards their pensions
  • a change to the pension formula for new federal hires to calculate pensions based upon an employee's high five years of salary, rather than the current high three years -- a move that would sharply reduce the value of pensions for new federal hires.

What Can I Do?

FEA wants all of its members to call or e-mail their members of Congress (but do so only when you are off duty, away from federal property, and not using government --owned telephones or computers).

Let your Representatives and Senators know you are tired of being treated as a second-class citizen by those who don't value the hard work you do everyday.

Use our Call-In Script or Sample E-mail language. Instructions for how to contact your Member of Congress are included with each document.
