March 2015 FEA Stateside Update
FEA Stateside Update
Jane Loggins, FEA Director for DDESS
Dorothy L. Lee, FEA-SR General Counsel
VERA/VSIP/RIF -Offers of Vera VSIP have been made in all districts. Second round offers are now being made in some districts. The HR team from Peachtree City was able to travel to Fort Campbell, Fort Stewart and Fort Bragg to assist with processing VERA VSIP acceptances from members. Those three districts had a high number of offers due to the number of employees above the staffing limits. The HR team will continue to assist other impacted members with VERA VSIP in our other districts using VTC with members on an individual basis. After all VERA VSIP offers are processed, FEASR will be given notices of General RIF and those will be shared with local presidents and members.
Schoology-FEASR has recently signed an MOU on the new Dodea Learning Management System, Schoology. The MOU is located at the FEA website, here , you will need your membership number and password to access this site.
Stateside Area Council-The Stateside Area Council will be held April 16-19, 2015, at the DDESS Area Service Center in Peachtree City, Ga. Local presidents, FEA leaders and invited guests will be in attendance. On Friday, we meet with DDESS leaders to discuss issues within our districts. On Saturday, we discuss FEASR issues. The Saturday meeting is open to all.
Travel-In March, FEASR General Counsel Dorothy Lee and I will travel to the Area Service Center in Peachtree City, GA for mediation of grievances. In April, we will travel again to Peachtree City for our Stateside Area Council. We will also travel to Guam at the end of April to meet with members and tour our schools in our most remote DDESS location.
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful and much needed Spring Break. Hopefully, all of that snowy weather is gone for this year!
