Dorothy L. Lee - FEA-SR General Counsel
CCRSM-Elementary Math -The CCRSM implementation remains difficult for our teachers and our students. The Association continues to keep DODEA Headquarters informed about our concerns with the CCRSM implementation. Headquarters finally addressed shortening the process of actually reaching the units and lessons in Schoology. In DDESS, our K-5 teachers will continue to get ½ day of release time to collaborate with grade level teams. Headquarters sent out a memo about collaboration for CCRSM. This memo states each collaborative planning for CCRSM will be a minimum of 45 minutes each week. Please remember that the Master Labor Agreement requires at least 225 minutes of personal planning per week. This additional collaboration time for CCRSM cannot be taken from the minimum 225 minutes of personal planning per week.
American Education Week -November 16-20 during this week, we all should celebrate public education and those that make a difference in the education of all children.
FEA Board of Directors Meeting -The FEA Board of Directors meeting will be held in Washington DC, November 17-20.
MLA-Certified -The Association met with representatives from the Agency in Alternative Dispute Resolution over the Certified MLA. We were able to agree to some articles with the assistance of the Federal Labor Relations Authority. We will meet in ADR again in January and continue working on reaching agreements over the Certified MLA. At this time our current MLA is still in full effect.
