GREAT WIN FOR FEA STATESIDE REGION MEMBERS
The Federal Labor Relations Authority has sided with the Federal Education Association-Stateside Region over DoDEA management in a dispute concerning employees being denied proper compensation for academic credits earned.
The FLRA this week ruled in FEA-SR's favor, upholding a July 2018 decision by Arbitrator Charles Murphy requiring management to place Stateside bargaining unit members on the correct pay lane, based upon their education level, as well as awarding back pay to affected employees dating back to November 2010.
The decision ordered the Agency to credit all relevant semester hours in setting salaries, regardless of whether the semester hours were earned before or after the award of an academic degree.
