Area Director Activities -- The Fall Trainings (Joint Labor Management Training, FRS Training) in Korea, Okinawa and Japan as well as the PAL Council have been completed. Your school FRS and district officers are working diligently on your behalf. I want to thank the District Presidents, Xavier Flores, Betty Gossett and Melanie Horton, for taking such great care of our FEA leaders and yours truly.
This update will be short. I'm currently in Washington, D.C. to attend the FEA Board of Directors Meeting. Keep tuned for details.

VERA for SY 08-09: Fifty-five VERA slots have been offered in the Pacific. Retirement has to be no later than August 19, 2009. See your school administrator for details. Also see your school administrator for the ELWOP and ARR applications.
Gradespeed and EXCENT Online: Both issues continue to be a priority by the FEA leadership. Continue to keep us informed.
2008 NEA Representative Assembly: See FEA members in the October 2008, NEA Today magazine as well as the RA in action: Start thinking about RA Assembly next July in San Diego, California.
American Education Week: Mark your calendars…American Education Week is November 16-22.
Open Season for FEHB will be November 10 -- December 8.
