Furloughs: FEA remains adamantly opposed to any sort of furlough for our teachers. Please continue to check www.feaonline.org, for the latest on the furlough situation. Please make sure to do this from your private, home computer.
FEA Europe Membership Processor: As you have probably read in the UNITY, FEA Europe has a new membership processor, Mr. John Crowe. For any questions regarding dues deductions, etc., please contact John.
Linda Shahan: Our special thanks and appreciation go to Mrs. Linda Shahan, who has served as our FEA Europe Membership Processor for a number of years. We are sorry to see her leaving us, but wish her all the best in her new DoDDS assignment in sunny Puerto Rico.
RAT/ED Travel: I have attached information on RAT/ED travel which is related to the problems with travel estimates being too low. POCs for problems with this are included.
Legal Services: I would like to take this opportunity to thank our UniServ attorneys for DoDDS-Europe, Jan Freeman, Bill Freeman, and Ben Hunter. They work long hours protecting our due process rights.
Local Leader Elections: By now, most of our schools have completed local leader elections for the next school year. Many of you have already sent us the results, but if you have not, please do so soon.
TSP Loans: For those of you with TSP loans you must file the Notification to TSP of Non Pay Status, TSP For, 41. This is filed through your local payroll clerk. When you return to pay status, your re-payments will begin again. Here is the link for the form.
Goodbye Grievance: If you are planning to retire or resign this year, or just leaving Europe, make sure you FILE and ELEVATE a goodbye grievance before your last duty day. If your FRS does not have a copy, please contact your District Representative or Area Director.
Summer Plans: Your FEA leaders and UniServ Attorneys will be on leave this summer, as well as teachers. We will continue to check our email periodically, though there may be some delay in responding.
NEA RA/FEA Meeting: Our annual FEA General Meeting will take place June 30 and July 1 in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by the NEA Representative Assembly. If you will be in Atlanta during this time, you are more than welcome to attend the FEA General Membership Meeting. For more information on location and times, contact the FEA Washington office.
TSP Returns: Attached are May 2013 TSP returns.
Retirement Articles: Attached are articles from www.myfederalretirement.com. These cover topics ranging from delaying retirement and social security in order to preserve your TSP and a review of TSP recommended investment options.
Outlook Access: Attached is information from the IT division pertaining to access to e-mail during the summer break.
Brenda Hoff: Please see the PDF entitled something to maybe put in the next update. Brenda has supplied this timely message for us to enjoy.
Netzaberg ES: Congratulations to Tonya Weight who has been re-elected FRS.
Kaiserslautern ES: Congratulations to Jeff Grogg and Laurie Smith, who have been elected as FRS and FR respectively.
Brussels E/HS: Congratulations to Judi Nicolay who has been re-elected as FRS for the next school year.
Baumholder M/HS: Congratulations to Judy Walter and Robin Hentz who have been elected to serve as FRS and FR, respectively.
Sembach Middle School: Congratulations to Richard Edmonds, FRS, and Michael Pratt, FR, who have been elected to serve their members.
Sincere thanks to all of you who have been elected, or re-elected, to serve our members.
