Read Across America: Don't forget to celebrate Read Across America March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. This is America's largest single reading event. For more information, visit the NEA website, www.nea.org/readacross. This is a great opportunity for teachers to share the great things they do in their classrooms with the community. If you have guest readers visiting your classrooms, or other special activities planned, be sure to let your FEA leadership know. We would love to have some good photographs for publication in our UNITY magazine or the FEA Journal. (If you take photographs to submit, please remember that we cannot show students' faces.)

Troop Movements in Europe: We continue to receive many reports of rumored school closures, realignments, etc., based on projected troop movements in Europe. FEA does not have any new information to share at this time, but will pass on any information as soon as we can. For the most up to date information, please check www.feaonline.org, regularly.

TSP Options: I am attaching two articles from www.myfederalretirement.com, which you may find of interest. One concerns the new Roth IRA option for TSP account holders and the other is in regards to 2012 TSP Contribution Limits.

Excess Teacher Placements: As of today excess teacher placement in DoDDS Europe has not been completed. If you are excess and have not received placement yet, please continue to be patient. FEA District Representatives are working very hard on this process with the hopes of accommodating as many people as possible with their requested placements.

Transfer Program: Remember to check the FEA website for the most recent information about the transfer program, including timelines, vacancies, etc, including Tips for Transfers, compiled by Connie Shanaghan, our FEA transfer expert. This information is continually updated as information becomes available.

DoDEA Director Visit: The Director of DoDEA, Ms. Marilee Fitzgerald, will be visiting several UK Schools during the month of March. Information regarding details of her visit will be released as soon as it is available.
