Events During the WeekJUNE 30
FEA HCR Program's Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) Meeting & Diversity Training
This meeting/training session has become a highlight of the FEA Annual Membership Meeting and a fantastic kickoff event. Join FEA Human & Civil Rights Coordinator Mimi Cuadrado and a cadre of trainers from NEA as they present an entertaining and enlightening program centered around issues of diversity and how we address/respond to them. The training will begin at 6:30pm and will be preceded by a deli buffet dinner at 5:30pm. Both events will be held at our hotel in The Sulgrave room.
The meal and training are for delegates and Association members only (sorry, no family members).
ATTENTION DELEGATES: If you attend the MAC Meeting/Diversity training on June 30, the FEA HCR Program will cover the cost of your room (room and tax only) for that night.
If you plan to attend, please let Gary know: firstname.lastname@example.org
The American Foreign Services Protective Association (AFSPA) will host an outdoor reception from 6-8pm the evening of June 30 in the Sulgrave Room at The Fairmont. The event will feature light snacks/hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Family members are welcome to attend!
If you plan to attend, please let Gary know and indicate if you plan to bring any guests/family members (specify how many): email@example.com
NEA HUMAN AND CIVIL RIGHTS AWARDS
Truly a highlight of any delegate's NEA-RA experience, the NEA Human & Civil Rights Awards Program is a formal/black-tie dinner and celebration of individuals who have made outstanding contributions/achievements in the field of human and civil rights. NEA will provide bus transportation between our hotel and the HCR Awards, which will take place at the Washington Convention Center (the same site as the NEA-RA)
ATTENTION FIRST TIME DELEGATES AND ANY DELEGATE SERVING THIS YEAR OR NEXT AS AN FEA HCR REP: The FEA Human & Civil Rights Program wants to host you at the NEA HCR Awards Dinner. If you are attending the RA as an FEA delegate for the first time and/or if you are serving or will serve next year as an FEA HCR Rep, you can attend the NEA HCR Awards at no cost (if you wish to bring a guest though you will need to pay $75 for their ticket). If you don't meet either of the above categories, you can still attend by purchasing your ticket directly from FEA.
If you are interested in attending the NEA HCR Awards dinner, please email Gary at firstname.lastname@example.org and let him know how many tickets you'd like to reserve. You can pay for your tickets when you get to DC. First time delegates and current/future HCR Coordinators are especially asked to contact Gary so that he can be sure to hold tickets for you.
NEA LGBTC BANQUET
The NEA Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Caucus (NEA GLBTC) will host its annual banquet. The evening will begin with a reception at 6pm, followed by dancing until midnight. Tickets are $78 and can be purchased from FEA Vice President and Europe Delegate Michael Priser. Michael has made an advance purchase of 20 tickets, so if you are interested in attending you should immediately let Michael know so he can hold tickets for you. Payment can be made to Michael when you arrive in Orlando. Michael can be reached at email@example.com
