JULY 4th 2012 IN WASHINGTON DC--WHAT BETTER PLACE; WHAT BETTER TIME?!
The FEA Annual Membership Meeting and the NEA RA will be held in Washington DC in the summer of 2012. It is not too early to think about running for a delegate position. There is no more exciting time to be an RA delegate than when the convention is in Washington DC during a presidential election year!. The FEA meetings will be held on June 29 and 30, with a ‘pre' meeting on June 28. The 4-day NEA RA is July 2 through July 5. There are many and varied activities on the days before the RA convenes.FEA is allocated 15 state delegates at the RA. State delegates have their hotel room paid by FEA for up to 8 nights. Further funding may be available from your local associations.
In addition to the state delegates, many FEA local associations choose to send a delegate to represent their local. Talk to your local president about how to become a delegate, and about what support your local association provides for its delegate(s).
The FEA delegation will be housed at the beautiful Fairmont Washington Hotel. The hotel is located in the fashionable ‘West End' section of Washington, just minutes from America's most cherished monuments and museums, historic Georgetown, and The Kennedy Center. Take a virtual tour of the hotel.
We encourage you to think seriously about running for a delegate position. It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your FEA colleagues from around the world, and to participate in the very important decision-making processes of both FEA and NEA.
